A Collection of My 300+ Sketches.

Initial Sketches:
This was my first attempts at sketching from a designer's perspective.
Some successes were capturing elements of function and structure of objects. However there could have been more development with the creative sides of design. Enhancing more detailed aspects of the object rather than sketching things from plain sight. I also struggled to do a lot of sketches under the given time.
Music & Film:
These collection of sketches were drawn from some daily technology and a range of
musical instruments. I looked at the different perspectives and components of these objects. I started becoming more confident with drawing lines and capturing circular shapes of my objects. I could look at changing and finding a style that can be drawn
under faster circumstances.
Collection of Ceramics:
I looked into some vases and ceramics in my home. Such as the curvature of lids and
the smooth surface of the objects. I looked at the details and features of these pottery. Such as the spout of the Tea pot and functions of planting flowers. By looking into the interior of the vases and patterns.
Albert Park:
During my breaks I walked around the park to capture some of these objects. I was
captivated by the details of the fountain and the artistry of the engraved stone
statues. There were also some lamp and sign posts. Through these sketches it
allowed me to communicate the details of these objects and pay attention to where
there may be cultural influences. I also started to become more lose and free with my sketches, so I was able to capture more sketches under the given time during the park.
Gear works & Time:
I also sketched some nostalgic items to me such as the mechanics of time and a
musical box. I enjoyed sketching the refined details of the object. As well as describing the objects into separate parts to see how these different materials make up these objects.
Reflection:
Overall, I learned a lot of different processes to design. And what to formulate and perceive as I'm sketching an everyday object. During the studios, I learned how
creativity can help support ideas but drawing with contrasting elements such as
Smooth and Rugged, Sharp and Curves. Other than that I learned how to capture the
essence of an object with simple shapes and refinement with strong lines. As well as
capturing objects from a range of perspectives. Other than that, I also have a better
grasp on sketching in comparison to my initial sketches. I have more knowledge on
how I can use these use this weeks sketches on my own practice when I start designing my own objects.
